The Imagine No Malaria ministry, supported by the United Methodist Church, aims to provide African countries with bed nets. Malaria is caused by parasites transmitted through mosquito bites, usually at night. It starts with flu-like symptoms and, if left untreated, can lead to convulsions, organ failure, and even death – a preventable tragedy. A single net can keep an entire family safe. The nurse at Madina Village School distributes nets and plastic mattresses annually to students and their families. She also shows them how to install the nets properly.
PUMC has supported this ministry for over a decade and is asking for help again this year. The request is to contribute $10.00 per net. Checks should be payable to PUMC with “Imagine No Malaria” on the memo line. Additionally, please pray for the children of Africa to grow up safe and healthy.
Dates: October 15 and 22.
Amount: $10.00 per net (checks payable to PUMC with Imagine No Malaria in the memo).
