Walking/Hiking Group

We don’t have a name yet! Heart and Sole? Walking by Faith? Fresh Air? But if you’re looking to get moving outdoors this summer and meet up with friends new and old from PUMC, join us for one of four walks we have scheduled – so far! – at local parks. Our goal is to gather all ages and abilities in various parks and places at various times and days of the week so you can pick and choose what works for you. Invite a friend! Invite a neighbor! All you need to do is show up with sturdy footwear and water or outdoor gear as needed! Wheelchairs or motorized chairs are welcome on paved areas – we’ll walk with you! Depending on the weather, we plan to be onsite for each walk for about 90 minutes. Come and go as you please!

  • Tuesday, June 11, Hummel Park. Meet at Noon for a sack lunch (bring your own), and walk from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Meet in the parking lot at the entrance off South Center Street/Old State Highway 267. Pastor Abby is the point person for this walk.
  • Saturday, June 22, 10 a.m.: Meet at the entrance off South CR 975E at Echo Hollow Nature Park (formerly Sodalis). Stephanie Hughes is the point person for this walk.
  • Wednesday, July 10, 1 p.m., Hummel Park. Meet in the parking lot at the entrance off South Center Street/Old State Highway 267. Pastor Abby is the point person for this walk.
  • Saturday, July 20, 5:30 p.m., Echo Hollow Nature Park. Meet at the entrance off South CR 975E. Scout Dunlevy is the point person for this walk.

As we continue our walks, we invite you to keep an eye out for more additions to our schedule. Remember, registration is not required. We’ve also created a walking/hiking group on Church Center to help you stay updated and connected. It’s more than just a group – it’s a community. By joining, you’ll receive all the updated information, be able to message other participants and stay connected with us. We’re excited to see you on the trail soon and to continue building our community together!
