PUMC Day of Prayer: A Sacred Invitation to Be With God

Saturday, Aug. 23 | 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Plainfield UMC

Prayer is more than words—it’s our lifeline to God. It’s how we listen, how we speak, and how we stay connected to the One who loves us unconditionally. In the rush of life, we often forget how vital it is to simply pause and be with our Creator.

On Saturday, Aug. 23, you’re invited to step away from the noise and spend time in sacred reflection during PUMC’s Day of Prayer.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the church will be open for you to come, rest, and pray at your own pace. You’ll find a range of meaningful prayer experiences designed for all ages and comfort levels:

  • A brief opening service at 10:05 a.m. to begin our time together
  • A variety of prayer stations, including:
    • A prayer labyrinth
    • Lectio divina
    • Creative prayer and reflection activities
    • Family-friendly and interactive options
  • Self-guided and guided experiences —join anytime and stay as long or as little as you like
  • No sign-ups required for individual stations
  • Childcare provided
  • Light refreshments available throughout the morning

This is not a Bible study or workshop—it’s a sacred space to simply be with God. To listen. To speak. To breathe. To reset.
