Sunday, Dec. 14 • 6:30 p.m. • PUMC Sanctuary
Free Community Event
This December, the PUMC Sanctuary will be filled with shimmering sound, soaring melodies, and the unmistakable spirit of the season as the Indy Winds Flute Choir presents a free winter concert for our community. On Sunday, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m., this remarkable ensemble will offer an evening of music that is as elegant as it is inviting—perfect for families, music lovers, and anyone seeking a peaceful moment in the heart of the Christmas season.
The Indy Winds Flute Choir is one of central Indiana’s most distinctive musical groups, known for its lush blend of flutes of every size—piccolo, concert flute, alto, bass, and the rarely heard contrabass flute. The result is a tapestry of sound that is surprisingly full and orchestral, yet warm and intimate.
This year’s program brings together a beautiful selection of classical and seasonal favorites. Audiences will hear the sparkling energy of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, the lyrical interplay of Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins—reimagined for flutes—and the majestic themes of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony. These masterworks are paired with winter-inspired pieces written specifically for flute choir, along with a narrated performance of The Night Before Christmas that adds a storybook glow to the evening.
The concert is completely free, and all are welcome. Bring a friend, invite a neighbor, and settle into a night of warmth, artistry, and holiday spirit. We look forward to sharing this exceptional experience with you.
