This Lent, we invite the whole church into a shared discipleship journey through Fight Like Jesus: How Jesus Waged Peace Throughout Holy Week by Jason Porterfield. The book guides us through Jesus’ final week, inviting us to see Holy Week not only as suffering endured, but as a purposeful way of waging peace in the face of injustice, conflict, and fear.
That vision feels especially timely in a cultural moment marked by division and anxiety. As followers of Jesus, we are called to a different way—one shaped by grace, courage, compassion, and reconciliation. Lent reminds us that real transformation begins in the heart, and this study helps form us to “fight” like Jesus in our relationships, our community, and our daily lives.
Throughout the season, several groups will engage the book together, including the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group, Friday Morning Bible Study, Cornerstone (Thursdays, 6:30–8:00 p.m.), and Sunday School classes. Everyone in the congregation is encouraged to read along, whether or not you participate in a group.
