Step Up to End Hunger: CROP Walk 2025

Join us on Sunday, Sept. 28 at Talon Park Pavilion for the annual CROP Walk—a 3-mile community walk to fight hunger locally and globally.

This year we’re teaming up again with Faith & Blue. Walk alongside Chief of Police Kyle Prewitt and officers as they share how faith shapes their service. Registration and group photo at 1:30 p.m.; walk begins at 2:00 p.m.

Not up for the full walk? Come for any distance you can manage—or simply enjoy an ice cream social while supporting the cause. Donations also make a powerful difference (checks payable to CWS/CROP).

Stop by the CROP Walk table in the Main Lobby on Sept. 14, 21, and 28, or see Mary Geible for details.

Every step matters. Let’s walk with purpose and make this our best year yet!

Basic Ministry Budget: Adult Discipleship

The PUMC Basic Ministry Budget is more than numbers—it’s a story of love in action. Every dollar you give helps share God’s BIG Love and grow faith.

Out of each dollar, 5 cents supports Adult Discipleship—$53,777 in 2025. This ministry provides Bible studies, church wide classes, Sunday School, fellowship groups, and men’s and women’s gatherings that help transform lives.

Thank you for making adult discipleship possible at PUMC!

Sunday Morning Nursery Worker

At Plainfield UMC, we believe that caring for children is a sacred calling. Our nursery ministry creates a safe, loving environment where infants and toddlers experience God’s love through gentle care, play, and stories. We’re looking for a Sunday Morning Nursery Worker to be part of this ministry. Reliable, caring, and ready to serve? This may be the perfect opportunity for you.

Take the first step today—visit pumc.org/job-opportunities and submit your application now.

Please Share Your Talent!

Music moves us. It entertains, soothes, energizes and inspires. In worship, music does even more—it connects us with God and one another in a way words alone cannot.

Every song we share in worship is the result of many steps: composing, arranging, selecting, rehearsing and, finally, offering the music to God and the congregation. It’s a treasured tradition at PUMC, and we need your help to keep it vibrant.

Maybe you’ve sung in a choir, played in a band, taken piano lessons or simply enjoy singing in the shower. Whatever your experience level, we can help you find the right place to serve. You’ll make music, build friendships and have fun in the process.

Opportunities include:

  • NewDay Praise Band – Rehearses Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Worship Annex
  • Sanctuary Choir – Rehearses Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Music Room
  • Sanctuary Bells – Rehearses Mondays, 6:30–7:30 p.m. in the Main Lobby

Ensemble rehearsals are underway or starting soon. To learn more or get involved, contact Brent Miller at 317-839-2319, ext. 223, or email bmiller@pumc.org.

Come share your gift and join the song God is writing at PUMC.

What’s Happening With PUMC Youth? – August 24, 2024

Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025
Youth Worship at 10 a.m. in Room 200!
This Sunday: Brandon Intro & “The Heart of It All”

This Sunday we’re diving into the two greatest commandments Jesus gave—to love God with everything we are and to love our neighbor as ourselves. These two simple commands hold the power to transform our relationships, our communities, and our faith. Together, we’ll explore what it means to love God fully, how to love others, and why these two commands can’t be separated.
Read Ahead: Matthew 22:36–40 and Mark 12:28–34

Fall Kick-Off Cookout Planning

The youth are joining forces with the Men’s Group for this year’s cookout. The men will provide the food (hog roast!), while the youth take charge of games, activities, and maybe even put together a playlist with Bluetooth speakers.
The planning team needs youth input to make this event awesome! If you’d like to help, let Brandon know so you can be included in the planning meeting.

Serve with the PUMC Homeless Ministry

We need two youth volunteers on the first Monday of each month. The next open date is Sept. 8, and several future dates are available. Sign up by the Youth Room.
