Financial Peace University is a transformative program that empowers individuals and couples to take control of their finances and achieve financial freedom. The program offers preview nights on Wednesday, Sep. 11 and 18, providing an opportunity to learn more about the class, register, and set up your online account. Childcare is provided during these preview nights. Subsequently, the main classes will run from Wednesdays, Sep. 25 to Nov. 20, focusing on key financial topics from 6:00-8:00pm. During these classes, participants will receive guidance on budgeting, debt management, saving tactics, investing, and wealth creation.

Ever messed up, given in, or strayed from the right path? If so, you’re not alone. We all have those moments, often leaving us feeling guilty or frustrated. Apostle Paul, an expert on this topic, offers valuable advice when we struggle with things we shouldn’t have done. Read ahead: Romans 8:37-39, Romans 5:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21.

PUMC Fish Fry – August 2 & 3

Youth volunteers are needed to staff the drive-through lanes and other roles. Many have signed up, but more help is needed, especially for the Friday lunch and dinner shifts.

Youth Sunday – August 11

PUMC Youth will lead the 10 am worship in NewDay Praise. The youth will share their mission trip or Camp Adventure experiences and other ways they’ve seen God working in their lives. MTC will lead music and prayers. Interested in participating? Contact Bob. We will also recognize our 2024 high school graduates.

13th Annual PUMC Youth Online Auction – 8/23-9/9

This is our primary fundraiser for youth ministries! We need help securing auction items from area merchants. Donation forms are available at the church, by contacting Bob, or by emailing auction@pumc.org.

Connection Point resumes September 4th

High School boys’ small group meets at Pastor Bob’s house on Wednesdays at 6 pm for dinner, Bible study, and discussions on various topics.

Confirmation Class 2025 Begins September 15th at 4:30 pm

For students in 6th through 8th grades. Information will be mailed in early August. Parents should contact Pastor Bob to ensure they’re on the mailing list.

TAS Returns in September 2024

“TAS” stands for “Thursdays After School,” a popular program for middle school students. It meets on Thursdays from 3:30 to 5 pm for snacks, hangouts, games, and Bible discussions. Led by Pastor Bob and Isaiah Jones. Sign up by the youth room for more information.

Fall Retreat Weekend – November 1-3, 2024, at Camp Indicoso

A favorite and meaningful PUMC Youth event. Detailed fliers will be available in August. Adults interested in chaperoning should contact Bob asap.

Celebrating Pastor Abby & Ryan’s Nuptials: Join Us for a Special Open House

We are thrilled to announce and celebrate the nuptials of Pastor Abby and Ryan! As they embark on this beautiful journey together, we invite you to join us in commemorating their special day with an open house on August 24, 2024.

This outdoor service promises to be a memorable occasion featuring inspiring music, a heartfelt message, and the warmth of our church family. The tent provides a comfortable setting, ensuring we can all worship together regardless of the weather.

Make a Difference in Sunday School

Do you remember attending Sunday School? What was your favorite memory? Did a caring adult make a difference in your life? Now, you have the opportunity to make a similar impact. KIDS@PUMC urgently needs your time and energy to teach or lead one-hour classes for our youngest church members. These children are our future; your involvement can help shape their spiritual journey. Grow young with us by signing up in teams of two adults per class. Sunday School begins on August 11th. Let’s make a difference together!

Back-to-School Support: Help Plainfield Students Thrive!

It’s shopping time again for the Students of Plainfield! Special school supply sales are going on now before school begins. Counselors have contacted us with their needs for the new school year. They are:

  • 1” binders
  • Plastic folders with 3 holes
  • Crayola crayons (24 count)
  • Crayola colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Reusable water bottles
  • Underwear for girls & boys (various sizes)
  • Socks (various sizes); also boys’ socks (size 1-3, low cut and crew)
  • Black leggings (larger sizes, girls 8-14)
  • Trial size deodorants (boys & girls)

Thank you so much for your help for our Plainfield Students! Donations can be placed in the Students bin in Donation Depot, or a monetary donation can be given with “Students of Plainfield” on the memo line, and we will shop for you. Your generosity is such a blessing to the kids!

Join Our Small Group Prayer Study in August

We invite you to join us for a 4-week study on the purpose and power of prayer. This enriching series, designed to deepen your understanding of prayer, will take place on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the Worship Annex, beginning August 7 and concluding August 28. By participating, you will have the opportunity to connect and learn with others, enrich your spiritual journey, gain a deeper understanding of prayer and foster personal growth.

Every session will conclude with a prayer challenge or activity throughout the week, fostering personal and communal growth in our prayer lives. This growth is not just personal, but it also contributes to the growth of our church community.
