UMCOR Sunday: March 10, 2024

There have been so many things in the national news lately that you may need to catch up on information about UMCOR, as usual. UMCOR moves quickly to assist hard-hit areas. The United Methodist Committee of Relief is always ready to help those in places like Alabama-West Florida, Western North Carolina, South Carolina, and other Southeastern states who experienced severe storms with tornadoes that left paths of destruction through specific regions. Because of your financial support on UMCOR Sunday, they can respond quickly and stay as long as the help is needed.

Also, this is an excellent opportunity to invite friends and folks interested in connecting with a faith community. We’ll see you Sunday, March 3, from 2-4pm for a PUMC Game Night!

Serving the Children of Plainfield

PUMC is collecting items recommended by school counselors and nurses to help the children of Plainfield. The items required include sweatpants/leggings (girls) in sizes 6-8, travel-sized deodorant/body wash, small bottles of water, and boys’ and girls’ socks. You can donate these items by dropping them in the “Students of Plainfield” bin at the Donation Depot near door 1. For any queries, please contact Sandy Bennett at sdailben@gmail.com.

Food for Others: April 14, 2024

You’re invited to help us package food to feed 9,000 people worldwide on Missions Projects Sunday, April 14, 2024. We’ll begin with our regular worship schedule that morning. Then, following the 10:00 a.m. worship, we’ll have an all-church pitch-in lunch in the worship annex at 11:15 a.m.

After lunch, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., we’ll work together to pack meals for people who are hungry overseas. We’ll pack 1,500 “bags,” providing food for 9,000 people. We’re partnering with MMDC (Midwest Mission Distribution Center), which delivers emergency supplies for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and other UM relief efforts.

To register for this event, please visit pumc.link/24FFO or find the sign-up table in the Main Lobby a few Sundays before April 14. We encourage you to invite your friends, family, and neighbors for this special Sunday. We’ll have worship, a pitch-in lunch, and the opportunity to serve others together. We hope to see you there!
