You’re invited to help us package food to feed 9,000 people worldwide on Missions Projects Sunday, April 14, 2024. We’ll begin with our regular worship schedule that morning. Then, following the 10:00 a.m. worship, we’ll have an all-church pitch-in lunch in the worship annex at 11:15 a.m.
After lunch, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., we’ll work together to pack meals for people who are hungry overseas. We’ll pack 1,500 “bags,” providing food for 9,000 people. We’re partnering with MMDC (Midwest Mission Distribution Center), which delivers emergency supplies for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and other UM relief efforts.
To register for this event, please visit pumc.link/24FFO or find the sign-up table in the Main Lobby a few Sundays before April 14. We encourage you to invite your friends, family, and neighbors for this special Sunday. We’ll have worship, a pitch-in lunch, and the opportunity to serve others together. We hope to see you there!
Plainfield United Methodist Church urgently requires passionate volunteers who can dedicate 2-4 hours each month to help teach Sunday school to children from kindergarten to fifth grade. The church also needs volunteers to assist in the nursery by looking after younger children. All motivated men and women are welcome to volunteer and work with us towards a good cause.
If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please get in touch with Charity Aton and JR Raffe at caton@pumc.org. Join us in our mission to make a difference in our community and children’s lives!.
Eggstravaganza is on March 30, 2024, and we need your help! We expect more guests than last year, so we need volunteers to help with tasks such as setting up, welcoming guests, running craft stations, and cleaning up.
We also need donations of giant stuffed animals for prizes. Contact Charity at caton@pumc.org for details.

This week, we highlight the Basic Ministry Budget.
The operating budget for Plainfield United Methodist Church is more than line items on a spreadsheet. It’s a story of love in action. PUMC uses gifts to the budget to show God’s BIG Love and help others grow in faith.
Out of every dollar you generously give to support the Basic Ministry Budget, 7 cents of it supports adult discipleship.
Discipleship: $63,095
United Methodists are passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. At PUMC, we believe that powerful catalysts for transformation are learning and fellowship. Whether you want to read the Bible in a year, engage in a churchwide study, or join a support group, PUMC has a seat with your name on it! Recent offerings include “Disciple Bible Study” short-term classes and Lectio Divina reflections twice a month. You’ll also find ongoing adult Sunday School classes, social groups for all ages, and gatherings for men and women.
Thank you for supporting adult discipleship here at PUMC!
