I’m thrilled to join the staff with KIDS@PUMC as Director of Kids Connection. I feel grateful for the opportunity to work with Ms. Charity and the rest of the team. I have lived in Plainfield for approximately 16 years. I am a member of Plainfield UMC and am married to Eiric Shriner. We have 3 adult daughters and 5 grandchildren who affectionately call me Yaya. Before joining PUMC, I worked as the Office Manager for Avon Christian Church, a Disciples of Christ Church. I have a background in IT, specializing in database management and writing code. I consider myself a geek and enjoy sci-fi franchises such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dr. Who, as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons. I enjoy reading books, eating food, and drinking coffee and tea. I find joy in the sound of children’s laughter, taking care of plants, and crocheting. If you see me around, please stop by and say hello. I am excited to meet you all.

Would you like to help out in your community but have limited time? Join the Hospitality Ministry email list! The Hospitality Committee will reach out to you and other volunteers via email when volunteers are needed. If you’re interested and it fits your schedule, sign up to help with specific events such as handing out water to the participants of the Quaker Day Parade, ushering for a Christmas Eve service, donating candy for trunk-or-treat, or baking cookies for an upcoming concert. By signing up, you’ll stay in the know about upcoming events and opportunities to help out at PUMC. To join the email list, please send an email to hospitality@pumc.org or sign up at the table in the Main Lobby on November 5, 12 & 19.

On Consecration Sunday, we celebrate our life and ministry together. We pause to recognize some members who have been doing this for a long time. And to welcome again those who have joined as members of this ministry within just the last twelve months.
Thank you for your commitment and faithfulness to Jesus and this congregation.

PUMC is actively involved in dozens of mission projects that aim to assist those in need and spread God’s messages of Good News locally and globally. We are grateful for your generous financial gifts, gifts in kind through various supplies, and hands-on service, all of which support these projects.
Please mark your undesignated gift to PUMC missions as “Missions in the memo.” Doing so will allow the Missions Committee to prayerfully distribute those undesignated mission gifts to projects beyond our operations with timely needs and priorities. Thank you!

Men, young men, and guests of Plainfield UMC come together for food and fellowship every third Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. The meeting takes place in the Worship Annex. Make sure to come with an empty stomach. Bring a friend and your Bible. Expect to be nourished with delicious food and the word of God. We hope to see you there!

Join us on the last Saturday of the month for a free lunch. Pass the word and bring a friend. Everyone is welcome! Door 14 will be open, and we will serve from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Thank you for supporting our food pantry collection since March 2020. We collect every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at door number 1. You can also drop off food at The Donation Depot during office hours. If you need assistance, contact Pastor Ken at 317-590-9589. Your donations help meet the increasing demand for food. Thank you for making a difference in our community.

Lead Pastor Charlie Wilfong is hosting a thirty-minute meeting October 15 (today), at 11:15 a.m. in the Worship Annex following worship. We will introduce PUMC, its mission, vision, and values. There will also be a brief Question and Answer time.

The Imagine No Malaria ministry, supported by the United Methodist Church, aims to provide African countries with bed nets. Malaria is caused by parasites transmitted through mosquito bites, usually at night. It starts with flu-like symptoms and, if left untreated, can lead to convulsions, organ failure, and even death – a preventable tragedy. A single net can keep an entire family safe. The nurse at Madina Village School distributes nets and plastic mattresses annually to students and their families. She also shows them how to install the nets properly.
PUMC has supported this ministry for over a decade and is asking for help again this year. The request is to contribute $10.00 per net. Checks should be payable to PUMC with “Imagine No Malaria” on the memo line. Additionally, please pray for the children of Africa to grow up safe and healthy.
Dates: October 15 and 22.
Amount: $10.00 per net (checks payable to PUMC with Imagine No Malaria in the memo).
