Spread Joy This Season with The Angel Tree Mission!

The Angel Tree Mission is an incredible opportunity to brighten the lives of children whose parents are incarcerated. Through your generosity and love, these children receive not just gifts but also cookies, a Bible, and a heartfelt message from their parent—reminding them that they are cherished.

This mission is more than gift-giving; it’s about showing God’s love in action. You can help make it happen! Volunteer to sort gifts, bake or sort cookies, and even deliver gifts. Every small effort creates a big impact, bringing joy and hope to families during the holidays.

Key Dates to Remember:

  • Gifts Due: Today, December 8!
  • Gift Sorting: December 8
  • Cookies Due: December 13
  • Cookie Sorting: December 13
  • Gift Delivery: December 15

Let’s come together and make this Christmas unforgettable for these children. Whether you bake a batch of cookies, help with sorting, or deliver gifts, your time and care mean the world.

Reach Beyond: December 8, 2024

After months of prayerful planning, Reach Beyond is here to help PUMC extend its mission and welcome more people into God’s love! This exciting project will transform our Worship Annex into a space of hospitality, outreach, and worship.

We’re making essential upgrades—replacing broken windows, updating 25-year-old carpet, modernizing the electrical panel, and adding cozy seating. Plus, we’ll enhance the space with a permanent prayer wall, art tracks, and more.

The vision costs $65,000, and we’re over halfway there! As of December 8, 2024 $33,588.66 has been raised. With your help, we can reach our goal!

This refreshed space will bless PUMC and our community as we build relationships, extend invitations, and share the Good News of Christ. Together, we can bring this vision to life. Let’s do this—our best days are ahead!

Sweet Treats for a Great Cause!

This Sunday, don’t miss the holiday candy sale hosted by United Women in Faith! Indulge in delicious boxes of buckeyes or fudge for just $6 each, perfect for gifting or enjoying yourself.

But it’s more than just candy—your purchases and donations will support providing headphones for Plainfield Schools, making a difference in the lives of local students.

Sales and pickup happen this Sunday, so mark your calendar! Payment options include cash, check, or online, making it easy to join in the fun and the mission.

Let’s come together to enjoy some holiday sweetness while supporting a great cause. Spread the word and stop by to grab your treats—supplies are limited, so don’t wait! Thank you for making this holiday season brighter for our community. See you Sunday!

Finding Peace Together: “Surviving the Holidays” with PUMC Stephen Ministers

The holiday season can be challenging for those grieving a loss. To offer hope and support, PUMC’s Stephen Ministers invite you to Surviving the Holidays on today (Sunday) from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM in the church library. This compassionate gathering provides space to reflect, share, and find strength. Together, we’ll explore ways to honor loved ones, cope with grief, and rediscover the season’s heart through thoughtful conversations, reflection, and meaningful practices. Whether your grief is new or longstanding, come connect with others who understand and navigate this tender season with faith and courage. All are welcome.

Have you returned your 2025 Estimate of Giving?

Friendly reminder! If you haven’t yet turned in your 2025 Estimate of Giving card, there’s still time to make a big impact! Your estimates help us plan for an amazing year of ministry and growth, so thank you for being part of the journey. Every card counts, and it’s never too late to join in.
As we wrap up this year, we also invite you to remember the church in your end-of-year giving. Your generosity fuels life-changing programs, meaningful worship, and outreach that makes a difference in our community and beyond. Let’s finish strong together and step into 2025 ready to do even more!

Drop off your Estimate of Giving card at the church office, mail it in, or submit it online at pumc.org/consecrationsunday. Thank you for being such an incredible part of our church family! Let’s make 2025 unforgettable!

Reach Beyond

With great joy and hope for the future, I, Pastor Abby, am excited to announce Reach Beyond: A Worship Annex Refresh! This initiative has been months in the making, born out of prayerful discernment and a desire to help PUMC reach beyond its walls, welcoming those who have yet to experience the love of Christ. Together, we can expand our mission, strengthen outreach, and make our Worship Annex a space that reflects God’s love and hospitality.
The project includes essential updates and exciting improvements. We’ll replace broken windows and 25-year-old carpet, upgrade the outdated electrical panel, and add comfortable seating to create an inviting environment. Plans also feature a permanent prayer wall, art installation tracks, enhanced stage lighting, and more—ensuring a space that serves our congregation and community well.

This vision will cost $65,000, and we’re already halfway there! Thanks to a generous $30,000 lead gift from leftover Transforming for Tomorrow funds, we’re poised for success. To fully realize Reach Beyond, we need your help. If every member contributed $100, we’d reach our goal—but any amount helps bring this vision to life.
This refreshed space will bless the many groups who use it, both within PUMC and beyond, as we pursue the mission and outreach God has planned. Let’s build relationships, extend invitations, and share the Good News that God loves and transforms lives. Thank you for prayerfully considering your role in Reach Beyond. Together, our best days are ahead!

Family Promise Meals: December 1-7, 2024

PUMC is thrilled to support Family Promise by providing meals for families during our hosting week, December 1-7! The families are staying at the shelter house, Almost Home (7233 E. County Road 300 S., Plainfield), where meals are shared family-style. Supper is served at 6 p.m., but you’re welcome to drop off meals earlier if needed.

We invite you to not only prepare a meal but also to stay and share it with the families. It’s a beautiful way to connect, offer encouragement, and build community.
