The Satisfying the Hunger Homeless Outreach would like to express our gratitude for your unwavering support during the past sixteen years. Thanks to your generous donations and prayers, we have been able to provide care for thousands of people in need. As winter approaches, we seek blankets, large (and oversized) hoodies and coats, gloves, and stocking hats. You may drop off these items in the designated homeless bin at the Donation Depot. As we enter the official season of giving thanks, I would like to extend a huge thank you for your continued support of our food drives. It is important to note that the need for such support is high in our community, and some local pantry supplies are so depleted that they cannot open on all of their regular days. On average, PUMC supports 5 pantries every month. Therefore, please consider filling a grocery bag or making a financial donation to help us continue to bless our neighbors. The NewDay Praise Drummer will serve God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit by serving Plainfield United Methodist Church (PUMC) through music. This position supports the NewDay Praise Band in the NewDay Praise worship service, and helps inspire our collective worship during Sunday and other special services. PUMC is a place where everyone is welcome and affirmed; the person in this position will be part of a collaborative worship team consisting of the pastor, worship leader and fellow band members as well as the congregation.
This position runs year-round and requires the musician:
Attend weekly band rehearsals Thursday evenings for approximately 1 hour.
Play in the NewDay Praise band in Sunday Services – contemporary worship style.
Typical services for the NewDay Praise Band are Sunday at 10am, with call time at 9:15am.
Play during special services including, but not limited to, one Christmas Eve service, Ash Wednesday service, etc.
This position pays $32 an hour on an hourly basis – approximately 166 hours a year.

I’m thrilled to join the staff with KIDS@PUMC as Director of Kids Connection. I feel grateful for the opportunity to work with Ms. Charity and the rest of the team. I have lived in Plainfield for approximately 16 years. I am a member of Plainfield UMC and am married to Eiric Shriner. We have 3 adult daughters and 5 grandchildren who affectionately call me Yaya. Before joining PUMC, I worked as the Office Manager for Avon Christian Church, a Disciples of Christ Church. I have a background in IT, specializing in database management and writing code. I consider myself a geek and enjoy sci-fi franchises such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and Dr. Who, as well as playing Dungeons and Dragons. I enjoy reading books, eating food, and drinking coffee and tea. I find joy in the sound of children’s laughter, taking care of plants, and crocheting. On Consecration Sunday, we celebrate our life and ministry together. We pause to recognize some members who have been doing this for a long time. And to welcome again those who have joined as members of this ministry within just the last twelve months.

PUMC is actively involved in dozens of mission projects that aim to assist those in need and spread God’s messages of Good News locally and globally. We are grateful for your generous financial gifts, gifts in kind through various supplies, and hands-on service, all of which support these projects.

Men, young men, and guests of Plainfield UMC come together for food and fellowship every third Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. The meeting takes place in the Worship Annex. Make sure to come with an empty stomach. Bring a friend and your Bible. Expect to be nourished with delicious food and the word of God. We hope to see you there!
