Plainfield UMC’s men, young men, and guests gather at the church on the third Saturday of every month at 8:30 a.m. for food and fellowship.
We meet in Clayton Hall/Worship Annex. Bring an empty stomach, a friend, and your Bible! Be ready to be nourished through delicious food and the word of God! Hope to see you there!

The Plainfield Federation of Churches is sponsoring a Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 21, 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Plainfield (at the corner of Simmons St. and Stafford Rd.). The offering that evening will benefit the Community Food Pantry. All are invited to worship and give thanks at this community service.
We invite you to come in and pick up a carry-out meal between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on November 13, 2021. Please come in through door 14 and go to the kitchen, and someone will be there to get your meal. If you know of someone who might need a meal, visit “Ministries” on pumc.org or on the pumc.org kiosk located in the Main Lobby by the big blue wall.
Even though Plainfield UMC has been collecting and delivering food each week in recent months, the Mission Committee planned a special food drive for November 7, 2021, to help emphasize the needs of the local area food pantries during this time of thanksgiving.
On November 7, grocery bags with a list of needed items will be available after the 8:45 and 10:00 a.m. worship services. Bags and lists will also be available in the office during the week of November 7, 2021. Deliveries of the collected donations will happen in the weeks of November 14 and 21.
If you cannot make it to the grocery store during the week of November 7, monetary donations will be gratefully accepted.
Your help to provide food for hungry people is greatly appreciated.
Every year on Consecration Sunday, Plainfield UMC likes to recognize members celebrating their 50th anniversary of membership and the newest members to the Plainfield UMC congregation.

Thank you to the members celebrating 50 years and our newest members. We appreciate your faithful in Jesus and all of the gifts you bring to Plainfield UMC.
The Angel Tree mission provides gifts, cookies, a bible, and a personal message from their parent for children of incarcerated people who cannot get gifts for their children. You can help by choosing a child from the Angel Trees in the Main Lobby, purchasing and wrapping the present (no gift bags, please).
Then return the package to the tree, and a crew of volunteers will sort and distribute the gifts to the children.

Choose a name for an Angel tree; there is enough personal information to purchase a gift. Wrap the gift in a box (do not stuff a lot of presents into one package, please).
If you have more time than money, volunteering is a way you can be involved.
Volunteer to sort presents, cookies, or you can play Santa and deliver the gifts. We welcome everyone who wants to help.

With grief and the most profound sense of loss, Plainfield UMC mourns the loss of our Director of Music, Steven Linville, who entered the Large Life on October 19, 2021. He was succeeding in his battle with meningitis, but other health conditions were too severe to overcome.
With the family, Plainfield UMC will celebrate Steven’s life on November 6, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. The family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Autoimmune Hepatitis Foundation in memory of Steven. He was hopeful that their research would continue and donations made in his memory will save someone else’s life. You can find information at aihep.org/takeaction on how to donate.
