Please Share Your Talent!

Music moves us. It entertains, soothes, energizes and inspires. In worship, music does even more—it connects us with God and one another in a way words alone cannot.

Every song we share in worship is the result of many steps: composing, arranging, selecting, rehearsing and, finally, offering the music to God and the congregation. It’s a treasured tradition at PUMC, and we need your help to keep it vibrant.

Maybe you’ve sung in a choir, played in a band, taken piano lessons or simply enjoy singing in the shower. Whatever your experience level, we can help you find the right place to serve. You’ll make music, build friendships and have fun in the process.

Opportunities include:

  • NewDay Praise Band – Rehearses Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Worship Annex
  • Sanctuary Choir – Rehearses Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Music Room
  • Sanctuary Bells – Rehearses Mondays, 6:30–7:30 p.m. in the Main Lobby

Ensemble rehearsals are underway or starting soon. To learn more or get involved, contact Brent Miller at 317-839-2319, ext. 223, or email bmiller@pumc.org.

Come share your gift and join the song God is writing at PUMC.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to love God fully, how to love others, and why these two commands can’t be separated.

Threshold Singers of Hendricks County | August 17, 2025

Threshold Singers of Hendricks County (TSHC) is a group of women who provide a calming presence at the bedside through gentle, peaceful, and soothing music. They sing in groups of three or four to bring peace and comfort to patients and their loved ones.

The music is especially appropriate for people at or near “the threshold” of life, regardless of spiritual beliefs. Their gift, offered free of charge.

The Threshold Singers will perform in the Sanctuary during the 8:45 and 10 a.m. worship services.

If you have a loved one nearing the end of life who would benefit from being sung to, contact Carol Foxworthy at 317-626-4382 to schedule a visit.

The Threshold Singers are grateful for their partnership with PUMC, which provides space for rehearsals.

Fall Food Drive Kicks Off This Month

This August, PUMC is launching our Fall Food Drive to help meet the needs of our neighbors facing food insecurity. The shelves of our local food pantries often run low during the late summer and early fall months, but together, we can help fill them up.

Starting this Sunday, you can pick up a food donation bag in the Main Lobby. Each bag includes a list of most-needed items such as canned meats, peanut butter, pasta, cereal, and shelf-stable milk. Simply take a bag home, shop for the items on the list, and return it to the Main Lobby when it’s full.

Your donations will be shared with local food pantries that serve families and individuals in our community. For many, these bags will mean the difference between skipping meals and having enough to eat.

How to Participate:

  • Pick up a food drive bag in the Main Lobby.
  • Fill it with nonperishable food items from the provided list.
  • Return the filled bag to the Main Lobby by the end of August.

Even one bag makes a difference. Let’s work together to stock the shelves, nourish bodies, and show God’s love in a tangible way.

Pick up a bag. Fill it. Bring it back. Bless a neighbor.

Back-to-School Blessings: Thank You from Sandy Bennett

Thank you, PUMC, for your caring generosity!
Because of your amazing outpouring of support, we received an incredible amount of donations that directly benefited all five elementary schools and the middle school in our community.

Your gifts ensured that children who arrived at school with nothing now have the supplies they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Your compassion has made a real difference, and we are so grateful for the way you continue to love and serve others in Jesus’ name.
