This year’s Vacation Bible School (VBS) theme, “Start the Party,” is about spreading Jesus’s good news and engaging in missions to share His message with others. These missions are not just tasks. They are opportunities to reach out to different communities and spread love and kindness to those in need. Each mission, including Homeless Ministry, Foster Care, Madina Village Children, and Family Promise, has the potential to make a significant impact. Your donations are the key to making these missions impactful and successful, and your support is invaluable.
Focus on Missions
During each day of the Vacation Bible School, a special visitor will talk about a specific mission in which each child can actively participate. The missions chosen for this year’s VBS include:
Homeless Ministry
Madina Village Children
Family Promise
Items Needed for Donations
To ensure that these missions are carried out effectively and that each child can actively participate, the following donations are needed:
Quart zip lock bags – 200
Cakes and icing (10+)
Throw away cake pans (10+)
Birthday bags (10+)
Birthday cards
Party hats
Bags of balloons
Small tablets of paper
Stickers
Streamers
Candles
Blank cards
Markers
Gel pens
Small playdoh (10+)
Small wedding bubbles (10+)
Temporary Tattoos
These items will create meaningful experiences for the missions identified, such as organizing birthday celebrations, providing essential supplies to those in need, and spreading joy and love through various activities.
By uniting as a community and generously donating these items, we can significantly impact the lives of those we reach out to through these missions. Your contributions are not just items. They are a vital part of creating memorable experiences and sharing the message of Jesus in a tangible and meaningful way. Your involvement is what makes these missions possible and impactful.
Let’s join hands and support these missions to make this year’s Vacation Bible School a genuinely enriching and impactful experience for all involved. We are deeply grateful for your generosity and support in spreading the good news of Jesus through missions. Your contributions, no matter how big or small, are invaluable and make a significant difference. Thank you for being a part of this meaningful journey!

Plainfield UMC’s men, young men, and guests gather at the church on the third Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. for food and fellowship.
We meet in the Worship Annex. Bring an empty stomach, a friend, and your Bible! Be ready to be nourished through delicious food and the word of God! Hope to see you there!
You’re cordially invited to join us in commemorating Pastor Charlie’s retirement on Sunday, June 16th. Following the 8:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services, we’ll gather in the main lobby for a heartfelt reception. Additionally, at 11:00 a.m., you’ll have the opportunity to personally greet the Wilfongs in a receiving line at the front of the sanctuary.
Let’s come together to honor Pastor Charlie’s dedicated service and wish him well in this new chapter of life. As Matthew 25:23 reminds us, “The master said, Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Your presence will truly make this celebration memorable. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thanks to your generous contributions to the PUMC Endowment Fund, a fund designed to provide a sustainable source of income for our church’s programs and initiatives, we were able to award a grant of $2,500 to fully fund PUMC Vacation Bible School, which will be held this month at our church. Only the income generated by your gifts is utilized, and the principal remains untouched to provide income for future grants.
