Celebrate the Newly Renovated PUMC Kitchen

We cordially invite you to a tour of the recently renovated PUMC kitchen, which we’ve named “Transforming for Tomorrow.” The tour will take place right after the worship service, this Sunday.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to meet the kitchen team, who will guide you through the new hub for culinary activities. You will be able to see and experience the new kitchen space first-hand and learn about our exciting future plans, which will undoubtedly leave you with a sense of anticipation and excitement.

We want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support throughout the renovation process.

So, please join us for the tour and celebrate this milestone together. We look forward to seeing you there!

Serving the Children of Plainfield

PUMC is collecting items recommended by school counselors and nurses to help the children of Plainfield. The items required include sweatpants/leggings (girls) in sizes 6-8, travel-sized deodorant/body wash, small bottles of water, and boys’ and girls’ socks. You can donate these items by dropping them in the “Students of Plainfield” bin at the Donation Depot near door 1. For any queries, please contact Sandy Bennett at sdailben@gmail.com.

Food for Others: April 14, 2024

You’re invited to help us package food to feed 9,000 people worldwide on Missions Projects Sunday, April 14, 2024. We’ll begin with our regular worship schedule that morning. Then, following the 10:00 a.m. worship, we’ll have an all-church pitch-in lunch in the worship annex at 11:15 a.m.

After lunch, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., we’ll work together to pack meals for people who are hungry overseas. We’ll pack 1,500 “bags,” providing food for 9,000 people. We’re partnering with MMDC (Midwest Mission Distribution Center), which delivers emergency supplies for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and other UM relief efforts.

To register for this event, please visit pumc.link/24FFO or find the sign-up table in the Main Lobby a few Sundays before April 14. We encourage you to invite your friends, family, and neighbors for this special Sunday. We’ll have worship, a pitch-in lunch, and the opportunity to serve others together. We hope to see you there!

Basic Ministry Budget: Discipleship

This week, we highlight the Basic Ministry Budget.

The operating budget for Plainfield United Methodist Church is more than line items on a spreadsheet. It’s a story of love in action. PUMC uses gifts to the budget to show God’s BIG Love and help others grow in faith.

Out of every dollar you generously give to support the Basic Ministry Budget, 7 cents of it supports adult discipleship.

Discipleship: $63,095

United Methodists are passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. At PUMC, we believe that powerful catalysts for transformation are learning and fellowship. Whether you want to read the Bible in a year, engage in a churchwide study, or join a support group, PUMC has a seat with your name on it! Recent offerings include “Disciple Bible Study” short-term classes and Lectio Divina reflections twice a month. You’ll also find ongoing adult Sunday School classes, social groups for all ages, and gatherings for men and women.

Thank you for supporting adult discipleship here at PUMC!

Total 2024 Basic Ministry Budget: $1,051,584

For more information about the PUMC Basic Ministry Budget and the Narrative Budget, see the January or February Circuit Rider or check out pumc.link/2024NB.
