Eggstravaganza 2023

Eggstravaganza is back for 2023!

Children 0-12 are invited to this free hunt for Easter eggs! The event will be held outside. Children will be separated into age groups, so everyone will leave with prizes and treats.

Eggstravaganza is a free community Easter Egg Hunt event on April 8 at 10:00 a.m.

Everyone is welcome, so invite your friends!

We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Easter Eggstravaganza Needs your help!

Eggstravaganza is back for 2023, and your help is needed! When we last hosted Eggstravaganza in 2022, we welcomed more than 250 children and their families. As you can imagine, with this many expected guests, many volunteers are needed. Volunteers are needed to help set up, welcome and register our guests, run craft stations, stuff eggs, hide eggs in the woods, and help clean up afterward.

Unable to be here on April 8, 2023, to volunteer? We also need prizes for the “special golden eggs.” Contact Charity at caton@pumc.org for more information.

We need you to help make this a warm, welcoming, memorable day for the children and their families by showing the Big Love of Jesus Christ.

Please visit pumc.org/serve to volunteer or donate.

Welcome to PUMC Rev. Abby Lietz!

Tamara Miller, Chair of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee, made this announcement in worship Sunday, March 5, 2023:

“The Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that Bishop Trimble has made an appointment for the PUMC Associate Pastor and NewDay Praise Leader. We want to extend a warm welcome to Abby Lietz! Abby will graduate from Seminary in Boston this May and has previous preaching experience. The appointment will be effective on July 1, 2023.”

Return to Open Elements Communion

At Plainfield United Methodist Church, we celebrate an open table; all ages, including children with parents’ good guidance, and all faith backgrounds, are invited and welcome to fully participate at God’s table, where Jesus is the host.

Today, we are returning to inviting everyone to come forward to receive either open elements or packaged elements.

Plates are available at the front of the sanctuary to receive your tithes, offerings, and Connection Cards when you go forward to receive Communion.

Live stream worshipers, please use crackers or any bread; and grape juice, juice, or water with enough for everyone at your location.

Food Drive

Thank you for your continued support of our food pantry collection instituted in March 2020. We have been faithful with our collections and deliveries weekly and are switching collection times to match current giving patterns. Food collection will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sundays at door number 1. You can also drop off food at The Donation Depot during open office hours, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

We will also arrange assisted transfers upon request. If you need assistance transferring food to the church, it can be arranged by calling Pastor Ken at 317-590-9589. The demand for food is up, and Plainfield UMC is doing its share in meeting the demand with your faithful donations.

Financial Peace University

If you’ve ever felt like you can’t get in control of your money, you’re not alone. You’d be surprised how many people you know are struggling just like you. But it’s time for that struggle to end—starting when you take a Financial Peace University class. In nine lessons, you’ll learn biblical and commonsense ways of handling money.

Class begins on Wednesday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m. You can sign up at pumc.org/FPU!

Contact Stephanie Hughes at shughes@pumc.org for special pricing on Finacial Peace University or any questions.
