If you’ve ever felt like you can’t get in control of your money, you’re not alone. You’d be surprised how many people you know are struggling just like you. But it’s time for that struggle to end—starting when you take a Financial Peace University class. In nine lessons, you’ll learn biblical and commonsense ways of handling money.
Class begins on Wednesday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m. You can sign up at pumc.org/FPU!
Contact Stephanie Hughes at shughes@pumc.org for special pricing on Finacial Peace University or any questions.

This week, we highlight the Basic Ministry Budget. The operating budget for Plainfield United Methodist Church is more than line items on a spreadsheet. It’s a story of love in action. PUMC uses gifts to the budget to show God’s BIG Love and help others grow in faith. Out of every dollar you generously give to support the Basic Ministry Budget, 7 cents of it supports adult discipleship.
Adult Discipleship: $69,296
United Methodists are passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. At PUMC, we believe that powerful catalysts for transformation are learning and fellowship. Whether you want to read the Bible in a year, engage in a churchwide study, or join a support group, PUMC has a seat with your name on it! Recent offerings include “Disciple Bible Study” short-term classes and Lectio Divina reflections twice a month. You’ll also find ongoing adult Sunday School classes, social groups for all ages, and gatherings for men and women. Thank you for supporting adult discipleship here at PUMC!
Total 2023 Basic Ministry Budget: $1,033,349
For more information about the PUMC Basic Ministry Budget and the Narrative Budget, see the January or February Circuit Rider or check outpumc.link/2023NB.
Join us on the last Saturday of the month for a free lunch. Pass the word and bring a friend. Everyone is welcome! Door 14 will be open, and we will serve from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Even though Plainfield UMC has been collecting and delivering food each week in recent months, the Mission Committee planned a special food drive for January to help emphasize the needs of the local area food pantries during this time of thanksgiving.
On February 12, grocery bags with needed items were available after the 8:45 and 10:00 a.m. worship services.
Deliveries of the collected donations will happen between February 19 and 26.
Monetary donations will be gratefully accepted if you cannot make it to the grocery store.
Your help in providing food for hungry people is greatly appreciated.
Plainfield UMC’s men, young men, and guests gather at the church on the third Saturday of the month at 8:30 a.m. for food and fellowship.
We meet in Clayton Hall/Worship Annex. Bring an empty stomach, a friend, and your Bible! Be ready to be nourished through delicious food and the word of God! Hope to see you there!
