Gather & Grill: All Church Kick-Off Cookout & Pitch-in

You’re invited to the All Church Kick-Off Cookout & Pitch-In on Sunday, September 8! Join us at 11:30 a.m. outside behind the church for a meal with friends, family, youth, children, and others in the community. Let’s bid farewell to summer and embrace the arrival of fall together. We’ll supply the main dishes and drinks, and we need your help to make this event amazing. Please bring your favorite side dish (or pick one up at Kroger) and join us for a fun, joyful, and grateful gathering! If you’re a grill master, we need your help operating the grills. For anyone with mobility restrictions, accommodations will be made, and there is room for everyone at the tables on the asphalt. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Bob Preusch at bpreusch@pumc.org or Pastor Abby Lietz at alietz@pumc.org.

Register online at pumc.org/gatherandgrill. Sign-up sheets are also available at the Welcome Desk and in the Worship Annex.

While registration isn’t necessary to attend, it would help us plan better if we know how many people to expect.

Doubling the Impact: Meijer Gift Card Match for St. Marks Food Pantry

From August 17 to September 28, customers at the Plainfield Meijer store can make a difference in the lives of those in need through a special gift card matching program. When patrons purchase a $10.00 Simply Give gift card during this period, Meijer will convert your gift into a Food-Only gift card and give it to St. Mark’s Food Pantry.

On Saturday, August 17, and Saturday, September 28, Meijer will double match your purchase, tripling the amount donated to St. Mark’s Food Pantry (i.e., $10.00 becomes a $30.00 gift)!
This innovative campaign offers a convenient way for individuals to contribute to the fight against food insecurity in their community.

By simply purchasing a gift card, customers can effectively double their donation, thanks to Meijer’s commitment to matching the value of each $10.00 Simply Give gift card sold. The ease of access to these gift cards near the checkout lanes makes it a hassle-free process for customers to participate in this charitable endeavor.

By participating in the Meijer gift card match program, customers play a vital role in supporting St. Mark Food Pantry’s mission to provide food assistance to those in need. This initiative showcases Meijer’s dedication to giving back to the community and underscores the power of collective action. It’s a reminder that even small individual contributions, like purchasing a gift card at Plainfield Meijer, can collectively make a significant difference in addressing social issues.
