PUMC Young Adults

PUMC Young Adults exists to empower college students, recent grads, and young adults in their 20’s and 30’s to be the church today. We are a real church, full of real people, with real problems, looking for real answers. We strive to provide a safe environment for anyone—whether you are churched, unchurched, or navigating faith to discover who God is and find your purpose together with others on the same journey.

Whether you’ve just graduated from High School or you’re married with two children and in your career, you are welcome to be a part of this group!

We meet on the third Tuesday of each month. Check out pumc.org/youngadults for more information and upcoming event details.

Romans 8 Book Study

New book study and teaching series starts June 1

In How the Gospel Brings Us All the Way Home, Dr. Derek W.H. Thomas explores Romans 8. He calls it “the best chapter in the Bible.” Dr. Thomas finds an exposition of the steps through which God leads his people in the process of their salvation. Through loving counsel on such topics as prayer, resisting the Devil, as well as exhortations and comforts for weary pilgrims.

Derek Thomas opens his video lecture with the bold declaration that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8 is a source of great comfort for every Christian. From beginning to end, it reminds us that nothing can separate the children of God from His love. In this twelve-part video teaching series, Derek Thomas exegetes this stunning passage of scripture verse by verse. He explains why he considers it the most significant chapter in the Bible.
Please consider joining this 12 week Bible study starting on June 1 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. The studay will meet weekly in the Koinonia Room.

2022 Basic Ministry Budget: Adult Discipleship

This week, we highlight the Basic Ministry Budget.
The operating budget for Plainfield United Methodist Church is more than line items on a spreadsheet. It’s a story of love in action. PUMC uses gifts to the budget to show God’s BIG Love and help others grow in faith.

Out of every dollar you generously give to support the Basic Ministry Budget, 7 cents of it supports adult discipleship.

Adult Discipleship: $69,078

United Methodists are passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. At PUMC, we believe that powerful catalysts for transformation are learning and fellowship. Whether you want to read the Bible in a year, engage in a churchwide study, or join a support group, PUMC has a seat with your name on it! Recent offerings include “Disciple Bible Study” short-term classes and Lectio Divina reflections twice a month. You’ll also find ongoing adult Sunday School classes, social groups for all ages, and gatherings for men and women.
Thank you for supporting adult discipleship here at PUMC!

Total 2022 Basic Ministry
Budget: $959,782

For more information about the PUMC Basic Ministry Budget and the Narrative Budget, see the January or February Circuit Rider or check out pumc.link/2022-Narrative-Budget.
