Announcement from Staff Parish regarding Children’s Ministries

PUMC will be recruiting for a Coordinator of Children’s Ministries, who will be responsible for the Children’s ministries on Sunday morning and the special activities throughout the year that accompany it. Charity Aton has held this position for several years in addition to her position as Director of Preschool Programs for PUMC. We are so grateful for all the work Charity has put into building our Children’s Ministry. It is growing by leaps and bounds, so Charity has decided to take a step back and focus more energy on the Kids@PUMC Weekday programs. Don’t worry, Charity will still be here; you will see her throughout the week and enjoying services on Sunday morning! She is just going to enjoy a little more work/life balance.

We expect this position to be posted this week. When you see Charity, please thank her for all her great work with the children. She is well-loved by them all!

Attention Volunteers: Children’s Sunday School Leaders Needed

Plainfield United Methodist Church urgently requires passionate volunteers who can dedicate 2-4 hours each month to help teach Sunday school to children from kindergarten to fifth grade. The church also needs volunteers to assist in the nursery by looking after younger children. All motivated men and women are welcome to volunteer and work with us towards a good cause.

If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please get in touch with Charity Aton and JR Raffe at caton@pumc.org. Join us in our mission to make a difference in our community and children’s lives!.

Endowment Fund Works!

We are delighted to share the latest news about the impact of your contributions to the Endowment Fund. Your generous donations have allowed us to award a significant grant of $3,400 to the “Food For Others” mission project. This project plays a crucial role in providing essential food supplies to those in need, and your donations have helped to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

It is essential to note that the Endowment Fund utilizes only the income generated by your gifts, while the principal gift remains in the Endowment indefinitely. This ensures that we can continue supporting programs like “Food For Others” for years to come, making your contributions “forever gifts.”

We want to express our deepest gratitude for your continued support, which makes it possible for us to carry out our mission successfully. Your contributions to the Endowment Fund have made a significant impact, and we hope you will continue to support us in the future.

Basic Ministry Budget: God’s House

This week, we highlight the Basic Ministry Budget.

The operating budget for Plainfield United Methodist Church is more than line items on a spreadsheet. It’s a story of love in action. PUMC uses gifts to the budget to show God’s BIG Love and help others grow in faith.

Out of every dollar you generously give to support the Basic Ministry Budget, 28 cents of it supports adult discipleship.

God’s House: $294,444

Our facility serves as home base for our core areas of service and ministry. Our 41,000 square-foot, two-story building allows us to host classic, contemporary, and youth-centered worship services concurrently each Sunday. Our digital exterior signage and sanctuary remodel aim to make guests and members alike feel welcome and at home. Our classrooms are filled by children, small groups, committees, mission teams, pastors, and staff. Our full-sized–and newly renovated–kitchen is a hub for ongoing ministry and outreach initiatives like bereavement meals and the annual Fish Fry. We open the sanctuary for countless concerts, music programs, and special events. Our property is one of the most powerful tools for ministry we have, and we don’t take it for granted.

Thank you for supporting God’s House here at PUMC!

Total 2024 Basic Ministry Budget: $1,051,584
