Accidents happen. A cup of coffee tips over or a snack falls to the floor. When spills are reported quickly, they can usually be cleaned before they leave stains or get ground into the carpet.
If you have a spill or notice one, please let a member of the church office or Facilities team know. A quick heads-up helps keep our church home clean, welcoming and cared for by all. Thank you for doing your part.
Youth Worship — Sunday, Mar. 1 10 a.m. • Room 200 Guest Speakers: Kelly Denman
We’re excited to welcome Kelly Denman as our guest speaker this week. Teaching from James 1:23–24, she’ll explore why mission trips matter and how they change more than just the place you go. James calls us to move beyond hearing God’s Word and into action. Come ready to be challenged, inspired, and open to where God may be calling you next.
Serve with the Homeless Ministry

Plainfield UMC will again provide meals for families in the Family Promise program April 12-18, 2026. This ministry offers food and encouragement to families in transition as they work toward stable housing.
You can help by preparing or delivering a meal during our hosting week. It’s a simple, meaningful way to share Christ’s love and support families in need right here in our community.
If you’re interested in serving or want more details, contact: Kathy Karazsia at karazsia1@aol.com
Youth Worship — Sunday, Feb. 22 10 a.m. • Room 200 Guest Speakers: Brad Hancock We’re excited to have Brad Hancock joining us this week! Brad will be talking about what it really looks like to serve others—not just when it’s easy, but when it actually costs us something. He’ll challenge us to see serving as more than just “helping out,” and instead as a way to live out our faith every day. Come ready to be inspired, encouraged, and pushed to love people the way Jesus does.

The Hospitality Committee is inviting new volunteers to serve as greeters or Welcome Center attendants on the second Sunday of each month. Greeters offer a warm welcome at the door and help guests find their way. Welcome Center attendants answer questions, share information about the church, and assist with name tags, the online directory, and church communications. The commitment is just 30 minutes once a month, and training is provided. If you’re ready to help create a welcoming first impression, contact Lindsay Young at hospitality@pumc.org.
The FUN Class invites you to a night of Bunco on Friday, March 20, in the Worship Annex (enter through Door 14). We’ll start the evening at 6:30 p.m. with snacks and time to visit, and the games begin at 7:00 p.m. No experience needed—Bunco is easy to learn, fast-paced, and full of surprises. It’s less about winning and more about laughter, connection, and enjoying time together.
This is your personal invitation. Come as you are. Bring a friend. Step into a room filled with conversation, encouragement, and just the right amount of friendly competition. We would love to see you at the table.
Lent is a season of prayer, sacrifice, and service. This year, let’s turn our devotion into action.
Throughout Lent, we will collect items to assemble Personal Dignity Kits for Midwest Mission. These disaster relief kits provide essential hygiene supplies to people facing crisis in the United States and around the world.
When disaster strikes, something as simple as soap, shampoo, or a clean towel restores more than hygiene—it restores dignity.
Each kit must include only the requested, new items:
1 hand towel (no kitchen towels)
1 washcloth (no dishcloths)
1 adult toothbrush (no multi-packs)
1 bar soap (3–4 oz.)
1 shampoo (12–19 oz.)
1 deodorant (2–3 oz., stick, roll-on, or pump)
1 lotion (8–10 oz.)
1 one-gallon resealable plastic bag
A $2 donation helps cover toothpaste and the carrying bag.

Then mark your calendar.
Sunday, April 12 11:30 a.m. Worship Annex
We will gather as one church family to pack these kits and send hope where it is urgently needed. Show up. Bring your items. Invite a friend. Stay after worship and make a tangible difference.
Visit the display table in the lobby for full details and to sign up to help.
In March, we invite you to take a meaningful next step in your faith journey through a three-week class called Journeying the Wesleyan Way at PUMC.
This experience is designed especially for those preparing for church membership, but it is also open to anyone who is curious about the beliefs of The United Methodist Church, eager to grow as a disciple, or simply interested in learning more about our Wesleyan tradition. Whether you are new to PUMC or have been worshiping with us for years, this is an opportunity to deepen your understanding and strengthen your connection.
We will gather on Sundays from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for three focused and meaningful sessions:
March 8 – What We Believe We will explore the theological foundations we share as United Methodists and how those beliefs shape our lives.
March 15 – How We Are Connected We will look at our church structure, our shared practice of the sacraments, and how we are united in mission across the world.
March 22 – Belonging and Calling We will reflect on our membership vows, discover spiritual gifts, practice generosity, and consider how God is calling each of us to lead and serve.
If you have been worshiping with us and sense God inviting you to something deeper, this is your moment. Step forward. Claim your place. Say yes to belonging, growth, and purpose. We would be honored to walk this journey with you.
Beginning Tuesday, February 24, you’re invited to set aside time for prayer and connection during this Lenten season.
From 5:30–6:00 p.m., we will gather in the sanctuary for an informal time of guided prayer and Holy Communion. This quiet, reflective service will follow a structure similar to what the Discipleship Team has offered during the Day of Prayer and throughout Advent. It will be simple, intentional, and centered on drawing near to God in the midst of a busy week. More information here.
Following worship, from 6:00–7:00 p.m., a Lenten small group will meet using our churchwide study book. This group is especially intended for those who are not currently connected to a small group and are looking for a place to grow, ask questions, and walk through Lent alongside others. Sign up here.
Lent is a season of reflection, renewal, and preparation. Tuesday evenings offer space for all three—prayer in the sanctuary and conversation in community.
