Used or Unwanted Candles? We Can Put Them to Good Use.

With cold weather here, we’re collecting candle wax to make another batch of can candles for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. These candles provide warmth, light, and a tangible reminder that someone cares.

All types of candles are welcome—pillars, tapers, votives, and more. We’ll melt them down and pour the wax into recycled steel cans. Thanks to your generosity, over 1750 candles have already been shared through our Homeless Mission on weekly outreach trips.

A donation box is available on the shelves in the Donation Depot.

Valentine’s Dance: A Night for Kids and Parents

Families are invited to a sweet and simple celebration at our Valentine’s Dance on February 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This special evening is designed for kids and their parents to enjoy time together through music, movement, and fun.

A live DJ will provide upbeat, family-friendly music, and there will be snacks to enjoy throughout the night. Whether your child loves to dance or just wants to move and laugh with friends, this is a relaxed, welcoming space for all families.

Admission is free with a donation of canned fruit, which will be shared with families in need in our community. Your donation helps extend the joy of the evening beyond the dance floor.

Come make memories, celebrate love, and enjoy a fun night out together—no tickets, no pressure, just family fun and generosity.

Youth Worship — Sunday, Dec. 28

Unshakable

When life hits hard, it can feel like the ground won’t stop moving—grades, drama, pressure, and loss all piling up at once. This week, we’re talking about what it really means to feel shaken and where we run when things get heavy. Psalm 125 reminds us that trusting God doesn’t make the storm disappear, but it gives us solid ground to stand on when everything else wobbles.
Read Ahead: Psalm 125:1–2

Serve with the Homeless Ministry

We need two youth volunteers to serve on the first Monday of each month.
The next open date is February 2. Additional future dates are available—grab a friend and sign up in the youth room

Serve Behind the Scenes: ProPresenter Builders Needed

Do you enjoy working with technology, visuals, or creative details? Our Media Ministry is looking for a few dependable volunteers to serve as ProPresenter Builders—a behind-the-scenes role that helps worship run smoothly each week.

What you’ll do

You’ll help prepare worship slides in ProPresenter, including lyrics, Scripture, and visual elements that support the service. This work happens ahead of time and ensures worship feels clear, focused, and welcoming for everyone.

Time commitment

  • Serve about once a month
  • Approximately 1 hour per week when scheduled
  • Flexible timing—come in anytime that fits your schedule; some work may be done from home

No experience required

If you’re comfortable with computers and willing to learn, we’ll provide training. Attention to detail matters more than technical expertise.

Why it matters

ProPresenter Builders play a vital role in helping people engage in worship without distractions. When the words are ready and the visuals are right, the congregation can focus fully on prayer, music, and God’s Word.

What if your camera roll told your whole story—not just the highlights, but the parts you usually hide? This week, we’ll explore how God works in the messy, unposted moments and how the Holy Spirit helps us tell honest stories that point to Jesus, bringing freedom, connection, and hope.

Sharing Lunch, Building Community | January 31, 2026

On the last Saturday of each month, our church opens its doors for an in-person community meal, creating a welcoming, relaxed space where everyone is invited to the table. Neighbors of all ages and backgrounds gather to share a hot lunch, enjoy conversation, and simply be together.

The next Last Saturday Lunch will be January 31, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. All are welcome.

This ministry is about more than food. It’s about presence. Volunteers offer hospitality, listen to stories, and build relationships that remind each person they are seen and valued. In a world that can feel isolating, this shared meal becomes a place of connection, compassion, and genuine community—one table, one conversation, one Saturday at a time.

Men’s Breakfast: Food, Faith, and Fellowship | January 17, 2026

Each month, the men and young men of PUMC—and their guests—gather for more than a meal. Men’s Breakfast meets every third Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the Worship Annex for connection, encouragement, and spiritual growth.

The next gathering is Saturday, January 17.

Come enjoy a hearty breakfast, meaningful conversation, and time in Scripture. All are welcome—whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth. Bring your Bible. Bring a friend. Come hungry for good food, fellowship, and God’s Word.

Caring for Creation Through Simple Changes

Friends in Christ, we want to share a helpful update regarding offering envelopes. This year, the church will not be ordering boxed offering envelopes as one way to reduce waste and practice good stewardship of our resources.

As a reminder, online giving remains available anytime at pumc.org/give. However, we also recognize that not everyone gives online. You may continue to give by check using a plain white envelope that you provide or by placing your check directly in the offering plate.

We know that printed envelopes have helped some folks keep track of special giving Sundays throughout the year. To support that need, we will continue to clearly communicate upcoming special giving opportunities in advance through worship folder announcements and the e-news.

Thank you for your understanding and continued generosity as we seek to be good stewards together.
