2022 Basic Ministry Budget: Adult Discipleship

This week, we highlight the Basic Ministry Budget.
The operating budget for Plainfield United Methodist Church is more than line items on a spreadsheet. It’s a story of love in action. PUMC uses gifts to the budget to show God’s BIG Love and help others grow in faith.

Out of every dollar you generously give to support the Basic Ministry Budget, 7 cents of it supports adult discipleship.

Adult Discipleship: $69,078

United Methodists are passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. At PUMC, we believe that powerful catalysts for transformation are learning and fellowship. Whether you want to read the Bible in a year, engage in a churchwide study, or join a support group, PUMC has a seat with your name on it! Recent offerings include “Disciple Bible Study” short-term classes and Lectio Divina reflections twice a month. You’ll also find ongoing adult Sunday School classes, social groups for all ages, and gatherings for men and women.
Thank you for supporting adult discipleship here at PUMC!

Total 2022 Basic Ministry
Budget: $959,782

We’ll be streaming this event in the Worship Annex starting at 12:30pm. The conference runs until 3:30pm, but breaks are included! We’ll have some light refreshments. Registration is $15; however, please email or talk with Pastor Hannah if the cost keeps you from attending. You can sign up at pumc.link/work-as-worship.

Ash Wednesday Worship

Join us on Wednesday, March 2, at 7:00 p.m. for Ash Wednesday worship. Pastor Charlie will bring the message and direct us with the imposition of ashes.

If you prefer to observe Ash Wednesday from your home, the service will be live-streamed at pumc.tv. You can pick up a packet of ashes with instructions for self-imposition in the office during business hours or this Sunday morning. If you have any questions, please contact Brent Miller at bmiller@pumc.org.

Men’s Breakfast

Feb 19, 2022

Plainfield UMC’s men, young men, and guests gather at the church on the third Saturday of every month at 8:30 a.m. for food and fellowship.
We meet in Clayton Hall/Worship Annex. Bring an empty stomach, a friend, and your Bible! Be ready to be nourished through delicious food and the word of God! Hope to see you there!
Check our pumc.org or the pumc.org kiosk by the blue wall in the main lobby for more information.

Second Saturday Lunch

We invite you to come in and pick up a carry-out meal between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on February 12, 2021. Please enter through door 14 and go to the kitchen, and someone will be there to get your meal. If you know of someone who might need a meal, visit “Ministries” on pumc.org or on the pumc.org kiosk located in the Main Lobby by the big blue wall.

Imagine No Malaria

The United Methodist Church supports a ministry called Imagine No Malaria, providing bed nets to countries in Africa. Malaria is a sickness caused by a parasite transmitted through the bite of a mosquito, usually at night. It begins with flu-like symptoms and, if untreated, leads to convulsions, organ failure, and death, a preventable death! A whole family can sleep and be safe under just one net. The nurse at Madina Village School distributes nets and plastic mattresses each year to the students and their families. Then she goes to each family and shows them how to properly install the nets.

PUMC has supported the countries of Africa with this ministry for more than 9 years. We are asking for your help again this year! Please also pray that the children of Africa may all grow to adulthood.

Dates: February 13 and February 20
Amount: $10.00 per net (checks payable to PUMC with Imagine No Malaria on the memo line.)

2022 Basic Ministry Budget

This week, we highlight the Basic Ministry Budget.
The operating budget for Plainfield United Methodist Church is more than line items on a spreadsheet. It’s a story of love in action. PUMC uses gifts to the budget to show God’s BIG Love and help others grow in faith.
Out of every dollar you generously give to support the Basic Ministry Budget, 30 cents of it supports worship.

Worship: $288,173

Our hope is that every person who participates in worship on Sunday morning can praise God in the manner that is most meaningful for them. This may look like our traditional Classic worship experience at 8:45 and 10:00 a.m., contemporary NewDay Praise at 10 a.m., Youth worship at 10:00 a.m.; a seat in worship or an enhanced live stream experience on pumc.org. No matter how someone chooses to engage with us, we always seek to create a space and an experience where people who don’t know Jesus can meet him, those who do know Jesus can grow in that relationship, and everyone can find a warm welcome and safe place to ask questions and talk about faith.

Total 2022 Basic Ministry Budget: $959,782
